WE'RE MOVING...

Last ever blog post we're afraid!
We're so busy (and have been for the last couple of years) that we just don't have the time to keep this blog alive and kicking. Soooo… if you do want to keep up with all the stuff that we're doing you can find us on Facebook, Twitter and of course Instagram. We'll be posting work in progress and news on those platforms from now on. See you on the other side!

Riding The Low...

We were asked by actor Paddy Considine if we wanted to design some promo stuff for his rather ace band 'Riding The Low's' annual 'Christmas Craptacular' gig. Naturally we jumped at the chance. We've designed beermat flyers and A3 posters, all lovingly printed by EE Chrisp. The 'Craptacular' takes place at The Tower Brewery in Burton On Trent on the 28th December; flyers can be found at the venue on the night and posters are for sale for a 'festive fiver' and come on two different stocks. Flyers are letterpressed in red/gold, posters are litho'd onto newsprint and poster card in the same colours. You can get tickets here… Should be a cracker!

Feeling Good Together™...

We had the pleasure of going over to Sheffield for the launch night of Feeling Good Together™ the other week. Our friends The Designers Republic™ have just designed a new large format (A1) promo zine for Evolution Print. This coincided with an exhibition at The Forum which displays the work featured in the zine. The zine itself showcases the work of 12 Sheffield based designers/makers/creators and is free to pick up for the duration of the exhibition (until December 16th).

As well as having a good night we also got to chat about the 'Manchester Editon' of Feeling Good Together™. We're going to be collaborating directly with TDR™ on the design and content of that version very soon. Exciting!

Giggs Reshoot...

We got round to fixing, re-lighting and reshooting our Giggs poster prints this week after we'd gone to the trouble of tearing them up into pieces last week. We could have recreated the same effect in Photoshop and/or Illustrator, but well... that would have been boring wouldn't it? Final shots just need a bit of tweaking now then they'll be ready to go off as final posters to 'Form & Glory' for reproduction and sale...

Giggs will tear you apart...

Production has well and truly started on a new large format football poster we're designing for the super Form & Glory project. Form & Glory will be selling printed goods that are a beautiful marriage of sport and design. We were asked to contribute, so ours is naturally Ryan Giggs themed. More info to come soon...

Movie Poster Remixes...

We have a real affection for movies so in our spare time (there isn't much of that) we enjoy redesigning posters for films that we love. We already have an archive of 'remixed' posters that we've designed over the last 10 years so we've had a good dig around and can now present the first batch up at our site.

Another batch to follow soon, when we've done some more digging...

OWT Discourse...

Our friends OWT have just released another batch of student tickets for their OWT Discourse event on July 1st. The first in a series of talks from emergent and established practitioners, bringing knowledge into the North West, while also celebrating talent that is already here.

The speakers will be discussing the notions of success, failure and inspiration followed by questions submitted online, at the event via projected twitter feed and from the audience. The speakers include Malcolm Garrett, Craig Oldham of Design by Music and David Bailey of Kiosk. The evening is compered by Dave Haslam. Go here!

Cheyne Stoking...

Our screenprinted posters for the film Dead Man's Shoes are done and dusted. We just need to package them up and transport them back to Loose HQ. Incredibly limited edition, three colours, A2 portrait, printed by Savwo. We hope Richard would have approved.
